Why: Launching our NEW holiday clothing and jewelry collections, Secret Sale with big discounts on select items, and a pop-up screen-printing booth to benefit Help Maui Rise. Plus, yummy treats!
Happy holidays, Wings fam! We’re celebrating with tons of brand-new stuff hitting the shop, and we’d love for you to come join us.
Come check out our NEW holiday clothing and jewelry collections, plus score some deep discounts on clothing, jewelry, and dishware in our Secret Sale (perfect for all you last-minute gifters out there; we’re right there with ya). Plus, enjoy some holiday cider and cookies while scooping up your faves.
And what we’re most excited for: our pop-up screen-printing event to benefit Help Maui Rise, an initiative dear to our hearts, which directly aids local families impacted by last year’s wildfires.
Here’s the scoop on the fundraiser:
- We’ll have a live screen-printing booth in the yard behind the store.
- Bring your own tee and we’ll do a custom Wings print for you!
- Or, try your own hand at screen-printing if you like! We’ll show you how.
- A limited amount of tees are available for purchase if you don’t have one, but we encourage people to bring their own. Get creative – bring a sweatshirt, leggings, denim, scarf, sarong, swaddle blanket – almost anything can work.
- The event runs from 4-7pm; but shirts will need to be received by 6:30 to be printed and dry. Pickup will be at the event, or the following day at the Wings store between 10-7pm
- Suggested donation of $25+
- All printing proceeds will go directly to Help Maui Rise.
You can read all about Help Maui Rise on their website, but we here at Wings have a personal connection to them as well. Wings Hawaii co-founder Melody, who volunteers with this group, explains, “I think what I appreciate most about this organization is that because it’s volunteer run and they’ve optimized the processing fees with Go Fund Me, 98.8% of each donation goes to the recipients. They’re granting the donated funds directly to families in need, because people are still really struggling out here. Unlike some big organizations that accumulate funds and grant them to other nonprofits, Help Maui Rise is dedicated to getting the money RIGHT into the hands of the people.
Last year, Wings Hawaii supported the Help Maui Rise holiday fundraiser with Ornaments for Maui, so again we’re looking to create something fun and interactive to bring awareness to the ongoing needs of our community members affected by last year’s fires.
Rents have gone up, and average costs of living have increased as well, so some folks are really having a hard time, and we know how much additional stress the holiday season brings… so we’re hoping we can generate some funds to donate and spread a little holiday cheer.”
